Pierre (age 57) successfully completed his study at HAS ‘s-Hertogenbosch University of Applied Sciences in 1985, where he graduated in animal husbandry and agriculture. He started his carrier working for a subsidiary of Unilever in the Pig farming industry. After working at different levels in that value chain, Pierre joined Rabobank in 1996 where he successfully worked in the following roles; Relationship manager agribusiness, manager Corporate, manager Retail, change manager Rabobank Netherlands and manager Process- and Project management. In 2010 he started working for Rabo Development / RIAS (now Rabo Partnerships) as Senior Project Manager Agribusiness.
In his present role, Pierre’s broad and in-depth F&A experience proves its value in the various food and agri related projects in African and Asian countries that are under his guidance.
Pierre successfully manages projects aiming for improvement of financial inclusion for particularly the smallholder- and emerging farmers, cooperative development, integrated value chain approaches and the development of specific products, financing schemes and scoring-/rating tools for financial institutions. He is also involved in the 5-year project called Climate Resilient Agribusiness for Tomorrow (CRAFT) with SNV, WUR, Agriterra, and CCAFS, funded by the Dutch Govt.
Pierre managed projects in amongst others the following countries: the Netherlands, Poland, Rwanda, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Botswana, Colombia, South Sudan, Egypt, India, China, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.
